​Our long term development training model allows us to customize a program based on where an athlete is today and where they want to be in the future. Every athlete that attends one of our training camps is assessed in much the same way a college or pro prospect would be evaluated. This process establishes the athletic baseline and acts as the foundation in building a customized training program to help the young athlete achieve their goals.

Our camp curriculums are fun, educational, and competitive. Athletes don't go home and hit the X box when camp is over. The Lightning Athletics after camp program provides each athlete with a customized training plan designed to keep them engaged, and motivated to build on the foundation they just established. This program is for athletes entering highschool in the fall. It is delivered by the Youth Total Trainer platform and is designed to help freshmen hit the ground running.

Most camps operate the same way. Athletes show up, warm up and then start drills. Kids are broken off into groups usually by age. They then work thru a series of generic drills before heading home. This cookie cutter type of approach can do more harm then good.

We consider strength, speed, skill, confidence, and motivation to be the 5 keys to success for every athlete. Our program is focused on long term athletic development. Not quick fixes. Just like a baby must learn to roll over before crawling, crawl before standing, stand before walking, and walk before running, young athletes need to build a foundation for elite level athletic performance before they can reach their maximum potential.

The trouble is building that foundation early isn’t always exciting, and often coaches may not understand the exact steps to building the foundation, so they simply focus on skill development. This can cause young athletes to lose their motivation or become frustrated when they don’t advance or get passed up by their peers.

You have probably heard that todays athletes are stronger, bigger and faster than ever before. It only makes sense that an athlete who focuses on skills only will eventually fall behind. Our program develops strength, speed and agility along with position specific skills.
